Taking an original design & brief from Jennifer Fay Architect, the refurbishment and extension to an old school house structure in Collinstown, Co. Westmeath grew and altered as the brief and budget changed. The provision of a new Utility, Store, Home Office and Rear Entrance at ground floor with a new large bathroom at first floor have all been accommodated in a new zinc clad and painted white render structure to separate it from the orignal house. The design maximises natural light as it circles the rear of the home during the day and all opening up of the existing structure internally sought to maintain a respect for the old building whilst providing it with a new lease of life.
